Interactive Car HMI

A feature-complete automotive central display prototype built in ProtoPie Studio, with real-time climate controls, seat positioning feedback, interactive media playback, and animated map route tracking.

01 problem

Prototyping multi-functional automotive center console displays often results in fragmented, isolated mockups for separate features (climate, navigation, and so on), which makes it hard to evaluate full system flow, visual balance, and simultaneous user interactions on a single dashboard screen.

02 approach

Formulated complex ProtoPie variables and formulas to calculate real-time distance and estimated time to destination along an animated navigation route line.

Programmed granular micro-interactions and visual state feedback for dual-zone temperature adjustments and individual seat positioning controls.

Integrated interactive media playback controls with dynamic album artwork transitions and track duration logic.

04 outcome

Navigation, HVAC climate controls, multi-zone seat adjustments, and media player synced within a single interactive dashboard
Dynamic ETA and distance calculation feedback driven by active map route tracking animations

The prototype pulls multiple complex in-cabin subsystems into a single interactive experience. Stakeholders can test realistic driver workflows (from adjusting cabin temperature to tracking live route progress) in one high-fidelity session.
